Combining different methodologies (quantitative data of archival data, network analysis, experiments, interviews) my research advances scholarly understanding of 1) the role of intra-organizational and interorganizational networks in innovation and entrepreneurship 2) the interplay of positive (e.g. collaboration, kinship, exchange) and negative (e.g. competition, rivalry, hatred) ties and their influence on actor’s behaviour and performance 3) multilevel processes in organizational networks. My research uses evidence from a diverse set of empirical contexts, including high tech sectors (semiconductor industry,  video game industry,  smartphone industry) and some Italian contexts (the Palio di Siena, criminal infiltration in legal networks).
